Now testing of vehicles can be done in the country itself. For this, the need to send vehicles abroad will almost be eliminated. Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Prakash Javadekar inaugurated Asia’s longest high-speed test track at Pithampur in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. This new high-speed test torque is oval-shaped. It is 16 meters wide with 4 free lanes. The length of the NATRAX facility is 11.3 km. This track is the longest track in Asia and the fifth longest in the world.
This track built in Pithampur is a world class proving ground. This includes other test tracks for automotive and component testing. The new facility will ensure that the vehicles can be tested and evaluated in India itself. The new track has been designed for a neutral speed of 250 kmph and maximum speed of up to 375 kmph on straight patches with no curbs on the curb. In this, zero percent longitudinal slope creates an open test lab for accurate measurement of the performance of vehicles on this track.
The NATRAX High-Speed Test Track is open to all types of vehicles. There will also be facilities for commercial events like product launches, supercar racing and dealer events. Many companies including Volkswagen, Renault, Lamborghini have shown interest here.
